The summary of the story.

 The story takes place in the beginning of the 4th century B.C.

The Peloponnesian war has just ended and with it , the golden age of the ancient Greece.A time consuming and catastrophical war, between Athens , Sparta and their allies.The Spartans won!

The Greek hoplite phalanx , has risen to be the best war machine of the era.The Greek hoplites proved themselves, as the best warriors and the most desired mercenaries.

In September of  401 B.C. 10.000 of them, have been hired by Cyrus the younger , to fight by his side, against his brother ,  Artaxerxes the second . The trophy was the throne of Persian empire.

Cyrus dies in battle,living the Greeks alone in the enemy's soil !

This novel , is an attempt to tell you the story of 10.000 men and the struggle to descent, all the way ,  from the heart of the Persian empire, to the sea ... and finally back home .
